The Harmony Community
Our Community Is the Heart of Harmony

HarmonICE
It is our sweet, cool way to serve our community! The Harmony Community Healthcare volunteer team hosts our snow cone truck at various community events, adult care facilities and homes. We serve a variety of thirst-quenching flavors for your group or residents.
Of course the treat is free, but we will gladly accept donations. Donations collected are given to local non-profits.

Pet Therapy
Pet therapy brings warmth, comfort, and companionship to the elderly, enriching their lives in countless ways. The simple act of petting a dog or cat can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and create a sense of calm. For many seniors, especially those who may feel lonely or isolated, the presence of a furry friend provides unconditional love and emotional support.
Animals have a special way of lifting spirits—whether it’s a wagging tail, a soft purr, or just a gentle presence by their side. They encourage social interaction, spark joy, and even help with memory recall for those with dementia, as familiar sensations and routines bring comfort and familiarity.
Beyond emotional benefits, pet therapy can also improve physical health. Walking a dog or engaging in gentle play promotes movement, while simply stroking a pet releases endorphins that ease pain and tension.
In nursing homes, hospitals, or private homes, therapy animals offer companionship without judgment, creating moments of happiness and connection. In the golden years of life, these loving creatures remind seniors that they are valued, needed, and never alone.

Music Therapy
Music therapy is a powerful and heartwarming tool that brings comfort, joy, and healing to the elderly. Through the universal language of music, it reconnects them with cherished memories, lifts their spirits, and provides a deep sense of emotional and physical well-being.
For many seniors, familiar melodies transport them back in time, rekindling moments of love, laughter, and belonging. A song from their youth can spark conversation, awaken forgotten stories, and even help those with memory loss reconnect with their identity. The rhythmic nature of music also encourages movement—whether it’s tapping a foot, clapping along, or even dancing—promoting physical activity and coordination.
Beyond its cognitive and physical benefits, music therapy creates a space for social connection, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. Group singing, instrument playing, or simply listening together fosters community and a sense of shared joy. For those struggling with anxiety, pain, or restlessness, gentle melodies provide soothing relief, bringing comfort in ways words often cannot.
In the golden years of life, music therapy is more than just a pastime—it is a source of healing, a bridge to the past, and a reminder that beauty, creativity, and connection have no age limit.
